Galaxy Spirals

The universe grew tonight
      Perhaps somewhere a spiral galaxy was born
          Or even a new supernova flared briefly

But it had to grow
     To contain my love for you
          Which once again, 
          To my amazement, 
          Has grown deeper
                    stronger
                    more secure
                    and more colorful

For babygirl, tonight when we made love with such wild abandonment
And melted into one in that flash of eternity
All I could think of was your laugh and your smile
And the sound of your whispered "I love You"
In the dark night.
