Junction

you can think me a silly girl
for wanting to grab onto you
and keep you near
you can think me a weak girl
for thinking i need you
and using you as a shield
you can think me a foolish girl
for setting a pen to paper
and giving you more than (maybe) i should
just don't think me a needy girl
for missing a safe night harbor
and listening to you sing in my car

you are to me a kind of sedative
that makes the world stop
and a wave of sweet fog roll over me
you are to me a guardian force
that caresses my hair
and gives me strength so subtlely
you are to me a tide of sea water
that lies deep and mysterious
and plays with child-like innocence and wonder
just don't play my card against me
my heart has not had time to harden
and in your hands, it never will.
