Laugh it up, boys!

I laugh in the face
of obscurity,
brandishing clarity
as a well-honed sword.

Why do you hide
behind great personalities,
with so much built-up nonsense
that you could be your very own
archeological dig?

I’m a whirlwind of truth,
giving no time to pretty words.
Drink up, if you think it will
soften the blow,
but when you wake
the words will ring
clear as a bell.

Whisper in the night
that you wish you
could be like me.
Is it true?
Look in the mirror and see.

Take my statements
and twist them into
questions that make you
more comfortable with
the whole situation.

In the end, it’s all the same.
I’m sweet, I’m nice,
I could have been paradise.
But you’ll never know, will you.
