Without the Strength

I hold on to the hope
with all the strength I have in my weak body.
You push away with silence.
I count down the days
weeks
months
since that night
that you showed me things I've never seen
or felt beofre.
I sit in silence for a long time
thinking of things that might
or could have been done differently.
I wait for a call
or your car to drive down my street
and stop,
wanting more of what we had.
You took all the words from my mouth and from this paper.
Speechless
and breathless
you left me.
I yearn to regain my strength and pride
and use it to push away the hope
and help me to be able to feel nothing for you
as I did
before
       that
          ......night
