for you
for you who sees beauty on the darkest of nights
when the cold penetrates my bones
whose soul lights up quickly on ordinary sights
when my own hardly stifles its moans
and what makes you smile when the sun's setting down?
on your everyday walk by the park
yet you wait patiently for what you call the crown
of the sky before it gets too dark
be it sunshine or rain that falls on your head
you cherish it like a long lost love
but where is the beauty, i see nothing instead
are your eyes blest by God above?
the flowers, the trees, and them grassy fields
the rivers, the seas, and the lakes
the truth that i seek your heart easily wields
are our eyes of different makes?
may i spend a little time with you for awhile
to see all the things that you see
who knows if you can teach my heart to smile
will you share some of your days with me?
