I looked into the
mirror and saw a liar
this morning
How could I ever have
believed myself a
'good listener'
when I could not hear
the sounds of love
in you?
I wasted so much
emotional energy on
trying to get what
I thought I wanted to hear
that I forgot to listen
to what your heart has been saying
