I see you as a pale reflection of myself
Like a rainbow dream, promised, forgotten and oh so alone.
I touch the shivering mercury of your mind
Strange scenes from inside the gold mine
Shadows play like children who will soon lose their innocence
To the time thief, bringer of regrets and remembrances.
These too are parts of friendship.
I see a searcher,a questing soul
Thirsty and hungering for a taste of true wisdom,
A correct connection in glowing copulation.
I see one possessed by wonder and sorrow
Dreams breaking in white-capped chorus,
Splintering, spraying to the four winds of change
That blow each of us in new directions
Making us better or worse that what we are - or were
I see an artist strung out on smoky visions
Liquid memories slipping one drop at a time
Into a never filling, ever empty chalice
That once held and is ever ready to receive the heart and the soul of you.
But you have given it all before and asked nothing in return
For your smiles and tears, your love letters or those penned by poisonous ink.
A true freedom child, genuine as a favorite pair of blue jeans
Fueled by creative conciousness, passion and pure hate.
A dreamer living the best part of reality, swirling in fantasy.
Is it angry autism? Naked rebellion cloaked by low self-esteem?
The dream never dies, just the dreamer.
I see the enigma, feel the mystery of you
Of what is and what should never be.
Transient imaginings melting and coagulating
Like blood and mental lava forming an incandescent halo
Tipped and tarnished, but still in tact.
I see the willful beast caged inside.
I see the secret place you used to hide.
I see the virgin and the whore -the telling secrets behind closed doors.
I see the core of you and me
Within the woven threads of destiny's tapestry.....
