Can You Smile For Me?

Untitled

Can You Smile For Me?

When your heart becomes overcast,

By the shadows of fear and past loss.

And when loneliness creeps into the song of your soul,

Bringing a slow tracking tear tumbling from your lash,

Remember…

My heart beats with yours now,

And my tears flow from the same source.

My laughter can be your laughter,

Together we command love's force.

But let's not cry now you see

Cause you know how I get

I will blow snot bubbles

Making you smile just a wee bit.

And when the future we dream of becomes lost in the commitments of today,

Making life seem like an ironic joke that hurts the secret place in our hearts,

Making us feel lost, torn between two separate worlds;

The loving, safe, security of our today;

Against the fierce, passionate possible tomorrow whose fire burns white hot.

Remember...

My soul sings with yours now,

And my desires flow from the same source.

My laughter can become your laughter,

Together we command love's force.

But let's not cry now you see

Cause you know how I get

I will blow snot bubbles

Making you smile just a wee bit.

Mine are the hands that reach for you in the night, yet find empty air.

And this is the heart that hears your smile in every song,

And you are the other that completes me

Though we may never be together in this life.

You are my one true love; my fairy tale Princess.

And my soul will never be apart from yours now,

My desires have already been attained.

My happiness was complete with your laughter you see,

When through our tears I made you smile for me,

By blowing a snot bubble then, and popping it when I said you name.

Can you smile for me?
