she was dissected by the hand of man
her polished teeth and seductive tan
she was falsely played for a mouse's plan
she was looking for her home

he was enchanting, never letting on
never letting himself be tread upon
he did some things that he knew were wrong
he was looking to be saved

it was reaction on a crowded street
the moment that their eyes did meet
they just stared, exchanging heat
and wondering what will come

he was bashful and a bit afraid
he swallowed hard and quickly prayed
he thought of something funny to say
and took a step toward her

her eyes grew wide as his steps grew near
her confidence had disappeared
she'd never felt this kind of fear
she took a step toward him

what happened next was beautiful
the awkward exchange of a first hello
embarassed smiles that proved to show
there was something there

i saw it all as i sat alone
playing my guitar, thinking about my home
thinking about the love i've never known
and wishing them the best
