she stops

And she stops.
"We haven't yet become who we were meant to be." His eyes pierce but his voice quivers.
'Of course not!' She wants to scream. 'People twice our age aren't yet who they were meant to be! We're supposed to use each other - we're supposed to grow together. We find ourselves in the mirror of us and complete everything.
'Of course not - we're too far gone, or not gone enough - too confused or to focused. Too busy trying to find that person to be that person - and that's what I really want - ultimately - to just be that person - but only if that person is with you - otherwise I'm going to have to keep looking, and that doesn't appeal to me because I know who I am and I want who you are - and will be.
'Of course we're not yet - because you won't open your eyes and see how great you are - because you're good enough already - in your dissatisfaction.'
All of this would scare him off, though, so she opens her mouth and whispers, "perhaps not."
