"If Ford is to Chevrolet what Dodge is to Chrysler, what Corn Flakes are to Post Toasties, what the Clear Blue Sky is to the Deep Blue Sea, what Hank Williams is to Neil Armstrong... can you doubt we were made for each other?" --Lyle Lovett

What A Month

What a packed month this has been...

  • The Blender hit a solid million frontpage hits-- taking a lesiurely 4 1/2 years to do so, but hey.
  • A computer glitch caused many of this month's works to lose their auxilary information.. submitted by, category, etc, though the works themselves were intact.
  • I'm off to Germany for a week with Mo. We're going to visit a good friend, who also happens to be "her" in Cafe at Night
  • This month we feature a guest ramble by the amazing Gala.
  • There's also this little sportsy thing going on in Australia...
and on top of all that, it was a great month for writing in general and prose in particular... especially considering I only looked at the first 3 weeks or so, since I wanted to get the Blender out early... so enjoy!

Front Page Picks
Love is better a stream By Angel no1halo@yahoo.com.
Angel resubmitted this piece with a slight different ending, but I prefer the slyness of these final words.
Venus amongst the daffodils By deevaa (deevaa@paradise.net.nz).
A combination of image and poetry, celebrating the return of spring to the Southern Hemisphere.
Dancing Down 6th Street By Madison.
This poem reminds of my the poetry class I took in college, in a good way. It has a stronger use of nouns than most works on the Blender...
I'm Tired By Dreamsome.
A work of weariness.
molly By the guppy
The Guppy wrote a series of works, each about a different woman it would seem. I thought that this one was particularly sharp.
The sports bar
Missing you...
Two by Akash. Akash, a newer presence on the Blender, graced us with some really excellent pieces this month. "Missing you..." is particularly poignant.
she stops By slug
Thoughtful little prose piece.
Sun Sets over Summer By Jenna Holland (poetic_angel@gurlmail.com)
Deevaa paints the coming of Summer, Jenna writes about its passing. Border conditions are always some of the most interesting.
Step Back By terry
A sweetly mystical piece.
the other girl By faith
A point of view uncommon in love poetry.
Brief Conversations with Seven Lovers By Moira Hardy
Innovative.
Warmth No More By sadness on a swing
What an appellation. It's been a good month for prose.
Portrait of a Woman (As Seen Thru the Bramble) By deevaa/terry
To end with, a collaboration-- rated PG13 or maybe a touch more, but well done.
Heart on Sleeve Corner
321 heartsongs sent to the Blender last month.

Features
Ramble Regarding Romance
Gala treats us to a treatise on weddings... I'm not sure if there's an urban legend lurking in there somewhere, but it's still a good read.
Blender Board
Conversation and Comments sent in over the past month.

Etc.
