A Heart Apart
Born of the sea,
bound to the sea,
but the woman's heart
that beats hard in her breast
ever looks to the shore
longing for the lover
she only knew by glance,
the man she saved
from the ocean's rage
with a kiss.
She knew that saving him
would put him beyond
her hope forever,
but a heart apart
is still a heart that beats
and that is all that matters.
