and beauty sleeps

and beauty sleeps....[And beauty sleeps]

She sleeps alone.
They say
she intimidates men
with all she has
beauty
and
talent --
brains too.
So when her beauty sleeps
she sleeps alone.
Her gentle smile
aching to be kissed
waiting
for her prince
to climb the palisades,
waiting to feel him
roughened yet gentle --
cupping her face
claiming her lips
her beauty sleeps
waiting to be awakened --
waiting to be given away --
to share the
sensuality
hidden behind
a
gentle smile
waiting to flow
and arch
and dance
the dance
of need
yet beauty sleeps
and she sleeps alone.
