Slipping into dreamtime

[Slipping into dreamtime]

I lay in bed with candle burning,
thinking about what would be this stormy night if we where together,
the flickering candle cast a gentle yellow light over my room
and my eyes are drawn to the painting,
unfinished on the easel --
I'm drawn into it,
and suddenly we are together,
the yellow light from the moon casting shadows over our bodies
masking us in darkness,
our intertwined legs become one,
and we are creatures of the sea.
A mermaid and her merman,
tasting of bitter sweet salt, and
ropes of seaweed binding our arms,
capturing us in lovers binds.
I think of you as I'm
