Stained-glass

You look at a girl
Nothing too special
Dark blown-blonde hair
Sad, sad blue eyes
She radiates
Her pain
In an aura
Around her.

She shows her heart
Slowly
And it looks so much like a stained glass window
Parts are not completed
While most that are done
Are cracked
Or completely shattered.

You see the biggest part
Its labeled 'Kevin'
In an elegant
Scrawling script that looks so beautiful
The pane has so many small cracks
That it looks like
One more tap
(Word)
Could shatter it beyond repair.

In her heart
It's so depressing
To see so many panes broken
To watch her futilely try to keep that big pane from breaking
To watch the tears well.

She now just waits
And waits
For things to get better
Or worse
She keeps the tears at bay
While trying to make the pane in her heart
Grow smaller.

So then it won't matter
So then it won't hurt
So then it will be okay
So then she can be happy
So then he can forget about her

Then he can be free
And she can also be free
Then it could be okay
Then it could all be okay.
