It's Never Lost
it's never lost or wasted...the love you send out
and cry over and write sad songs about and dream about
and try to work out in therapy or in bars with friends
on nights that refuse to end without much persuasion
the equation is kind and tolerant of doubt regardless of
the route it's about almost kinda sorta the same outcome
in the end
the Beatles knew this
and sang this
on "Abbey Road"
and it's true
and you should know it
and grow it in your garden
and never blame the sun or the rain
planting the seeds is what matters
anyone can buy a painting
of the outcome
getting your hands dirty
and loving the process
is what adds
shine to your eyes
and brightness to your spirit
sing a song
and I'll hear it
when I'm dreaming deep
and I'll blow kisses back
if only to keep
your hope intact.
