The Man In The Mirror

You’ve been bearing down on me about things you couldn’t know
Born in shadows, dark deep dreams, though it never seems to show

I had my own signs to follow, decisions where my heart could flow
When way down deep inside of me I really know

I’m looking one way my love
Reflecting on just what I see
While looking the other way too my love
Which reflects right back on me

For love is like your smile to me, revealing what’s yet to come
Thoughts and hopes and plans that might be are all rolled into one

Long late nights and early calls, just trying to find my way
But in truth, there’s something deep inside that I must say

I’m looking your way my love
Reflecting on just what I see
But I’m looking the other way too my love
Reflecting back on me

And this decision is like a deep cut to me, with pain in either way
Broken hearts and shattered dreams, will take my peace away

Take this cup from my lips I pray, raw silence from my God above
Cause love and hope and peace to stay, must be born, not in pain, but pure white love

I look in the mirror now my love
Reflecting on just what I see
A scared and lonely, broken man
Reflecting back on me
Reflecting back on me
