storm

thunder and lightening
making love in the blackened sky
chills run down my spine
powerless, in the dark room
no lamp to light my way back to reality
lost in a storm of emotion
ocean waves whisper to me from the distance
screaming siletnly in my humid little cell
listening to the sounds of wild nature
you are almost close enough
your breath teases my skin
your eyes burn through my soul
your lips, teeth, tongue and fingertips
haunting me... i can almost taste you again
and the bedside lamp comes back to life
and the heavens silence themselves
and water drips slowly and seductively off of the windows
my flesh feels the distance
my heart wants to drown in it
but i will hold my breath under the water
until your soft smile rescues me
