What I Would've Done

I wish I'd have grown up with you,
between the ages of eight and nine.
I know I would have had a crush on you,
dreaming someday
you'd be mine.

I would've been your best friend,
to hang out with and have fun.
I would've ridden your motorbike,
and layed out in the sun.
  
Or we could've thrown rocks,
or pinecombs at eachother to flirt.
I would've gone oustside with you,
to only play in the dirt.

  I would've lent my ear to listen,
to all you had to say.
I would've given anything,
to keep you from feeling alone your whole life,
as you said to me today!
