traveler
i've lived a thousand years to today
and quite a few lives
i've entertained queens
and lain with kings
with their royal heads bowed down
to meet my gentle kiss
i've fed with paupers and drank
from their tepid water
i've wandered this world from corner
to corner
i've filled oceans and lakes with my tears
i've grown gardens with roses of the
most lustrious reds and hughes of
morning and dusk
i sprinkled twilight dust on your eyes as
you have slept and i've waited for
your smile to creep up while your
blankets held you tight
i wander through this world a traveler
not from afar but of all
i travel the miles and i travel your words
when you see my footfalls they linger
with thoughts that flow into your mind
then as i prepare your food i but into it
tears of love and passion
so that you may find your release one day
tonight i close my eyes and dream
tonight i dream
i dream
