slow wake from fitful dreams
tossed and turned tangled sheets
living the bad out of life again
can't shake my nightmares for sleep
see u over in the distance talking
refuse to see who iv driven u to
for i was not good enough
in my own mind to keep you longer
did not wish to tie you to the life of mine
is this a weakness do you care?
and would you have stayed?
but for the love of thee
i had not the choice
so i turned and forced you away
deep into the arms of another
now i lie and await my death
still too many years away
