lovers moon

they say its the lovers moon
so pitted and marked covered in gauzy veils
light wafting softly down to lone and quiet surf
wind gentle and comforting brushing caressing skin
of she who stands and drinks of nights sweet mist
arms open, raised, accepting this treasure
peace and tranquility mixed so with none to share
with this thought the breeze turns cool
but no less welcome that  for she has seen him
he watches endless, night no longer alone for him
her beauty to all else will pale should he ever look away
inside so stuffy warm, so to cool out side, to here
where he sat at peace with life so full
enjoying the beauty of this night
till she topped the rise
his heart did stop and when started again his life so empty
his heart already lost till she looked at him
in one glance both did know
so neither in hurry, both comforted
by the presence of the other
they settled to enjoy this wondrous night
separated by distance yet souls entwined
they say its the lovers moon
