Obsession
imagine it-
you and i are locked in a room with no doors or windows
only four walls and no way out
an old dingy lamp swings wildly in the center of the room
the light flickers, threatening to die
you realize that all of your wishes have come true
i broke your heart and you have been given a chance to pay me back
now picture it-
i scream to a God unknown to save me
and he answers back with a sigh
given the power to take me out of this world,
you finally have the control you always wanted
you look at me through violent blue eyes and smile
and i say nothing as you ask why i couldn't have just loved you
suddenly we're both freed
you see it as a cruel twist of fate and chase after me again
warm summer sun turns to cool midnight and the fog grows thick
you lose me as i run through the woods
until i trip over a tree branch
you slowly walk towards me and smile knowing that you've caught me once again
i roll over and lie before you
too tired to fight anymore, i close my eyes and wait for your decision
i feel your teardrops fall onto my face as you move closer
then i open my eyes and awaken to find you smiling at me...
still smiling at me
