Shakespeare Sharing Love

Feeling lost, a little blue
Feeling older than my forty years, a long haul from new
Missing the touch the taste the feel
Of your warmth next to mine when you’re here.

I reach for that shiny little disc for company
For cheer
For the one thing I know will bring you near
Shakespeare in Love on DVD
Not for the rich language
Not for the superb acting
But for the pure power of love it brings to me.

For you are my true Juliet
The holder of my soul in your hands
And the captor of my heart
And the object of every word from hand
And as the images flow from the screen
The ritual begun once again
I feel you there
At the center of my being
As cool and soothing
As a cold cloth on my overheated brow.
