With open arms you took me in
placing me under your wing,
sheltering me from the outside world,
healing my wounded heart,
and helping me realize that there is love after heart break.

With tender, loving hands
you brush hair from my eyes,
rub my back,
and tickle my sides
silently saying "there's more to come..."

With beautifully deep, passionate, searching eyes
you see through me,
reaching the very depths of my heart and soul
and without uttering a sound
know my every hope, dream, and fear.

It is then that I am at peace
with myself and the world.
It is then that I know love
with an intensity and depth I've never seen.
It is the reason I long to be with you...

You believed in me
You trusted me
You gave me strength
You saw the best there was in me
