"Half of what I say is meaningless..." ~"Julia," John Lennon today I tied red ribbons to the antenna of my car and wore a red t-shirt to work tonight we'll light candles and stand outside thinking and hoping beyond ourselves and the small town we restlessly reside in looking at our photos of Manhattan we see the view of the World Trade Towers from the top of the Empire State Building when we return in December the tree I always wanted to see will glow with bright colors but the absence will be felt and nothing will ever be the same there or here or anywhere in the world no new news tonight we've swallowed the sad doses like good Americans I need sanctuary time to consider peace and smallness and the rage inside that needs to be stifled |
