Austin was our city for a few tantalizin' agonizin' months we toughed it out in our tiny one room apartment on North Lamar with my art thumbtacked to the walls and the constant trips to the used record shop dinner at Chuy's Friday night billiards and buffalo wings trips to Target and the occasional mad Dave & Buster's spree we were very poor and disillusioned city love was hard we resented the Westlake Yuppie Population especially when I applied for all those nanny/housekeeper positions the greenbelts were crowded with insane bikers and the traffic was brain numbing Sixth Street was mediocre but we were together, finally and that was almost sufficient. |
