Puddle Jumping

Our words step ever so gently, circumnavigating,
Careful bare feet tiptoeing round the puddle
Possibly dipping a cautious toe now and then
But mostly picking their dainty dry way
Reluctant to plunge in

Time to get your feet wet
Take my hand, jump smack in the middle with me
Splash it in the air until it drenches us
Throw droplets up to sparkle in the sunlight
Refreshing, isn't it?
