I have a philosophy. I must live in this world. One that is full of violence, hate, dishonesty and little concern for any others of our own species. In (relatively) small pockets and fleeting moments there are people and actions that are sweet and loving and peaceful. Where people don't ignore the physical or emotional needs of others, no matter who they are, or aren't, to us. Where empathy is encouraged and supported. In my home I can create a refuge of love. A place to come where the truth is told, love and kindness are guaranteed, and people help each other become stronger and better. BUT I must bring this countenance wherever I go, for I am not truly this type of person if I behave this way ONLY in my home and ONLY with MY friends and family. If I do not treat ALL people with this regard at ALL times, then I am false. No provocation, no circumstance, no event is reason enough to go against what I know and believe to be right and true.
