Today TK had a birthday party to go to, not just any birthday - but Taylor's 5th birthday - Taylor is his best friend, and his girlfriend too.

So in bed this morning TK is snuggled in next to me and I say "So what are we going to buy Taylor for her birthday?"
"I want to buy her a necklace, I think."
"A necklace, that'd be a nice present."
"A necklace or a pretty Barbie doll."

Later in the toy store I show TK the stand with children's necklaces on it, and take down a gold chain with a 'T' on it and ask if he likes that one. He says "No, I think I like this one better" and picks up a pink jewellery box with a two children's rings and a necklace in it. The has three charms hanging from it - a cupid, a heart and a small pearl and both rings look like miniature versions of engagement rings.

I smile and ask him if he is sure that's what he wants to give Taylor, and he says "Yes, Taylor will love it."

TK is the first child to arrive at the party and he rushes to give Taylor the present, but Taylor says she can't open it until after the cake. TK ignores her and opens the box and shows her, her eyes pop wide and she quickly closes the box pretending not to see.

TK then whispers in my ear he'd like me to kiss her on the cheek for him, he's too shy to kiss her himself. I pass along the kiss as Taylor blushes with pleasure. She and TK then rush off to play together.

As the other girls arrive TK head off to play while Taylor talks to the girls. "You should see what TK gave me, its very special, but I can't show you!"

I think it's love.
