Ohio-the place that sheltered you during your childhood the place that eventually lead you to me it was fate that stepped in and finally the place that took you back, and led you away from me the ten months we spent together were the best of my life i will never have another relationship quite like the one we shared you were the first man who i loved completely who i shared everything with no one will ever be able to compare to you and you will never find someone like me we shared so much together ohio was just another journey in our relationship i met your mom, your friends, and saw your home I mingled with your past answered many questions and felt doubts your friends all loved me, except for one the one who has taken more from you than you can ever gain from her she took a part of you yet, you remain in contact with her, while she is in ohio Ohio-the place where we shared long nights secrets that no one will ever know how much you must have cared to have taken me with you i felt at home there, and prayed that it would never end united dairy farmers ice cream was our treat watching movies with your friends late nights at the waffle houses and even secret shoppes that only we knew about ohio was a great time to spend with you every time we went, we got so much closer until the very end when you went to interview for your job you promised me that you wouldn't get it but you had warned me that if you got an offer you would take it the whole trip home, i prayed you knew i was praying for your failure i was so selfish to try to keep you from ohio from your home, your family, your friends they all looked forward to your return and most expected me to go to ohio with you i had it all planned out college, job we could be together but you refused to compromise the last trip we took, i helped you move it was so hard to realize that my piece of heaven was ending but i never realized how brutal it would be i never realized how cold it is in ohio i have returned only once since to find a cold stare on your face and tears in your eyes what time is it in ohio now what are you doing now how do you feel when you get my calls, my emails do they make you shudder or do you press delete immediately now that you have returned to ohio is it what you thought it would be ohio brought us together it took us away from each other i'm in indiana now you're in ohio, your real home, completely forgetting all the memories we shared there |
