Academy Awards ending now and you tell me that "Crash" has just won Best Picture and I exult - our movie, baby! See, we own art that has touched us, we own the rush that comes from good art done well even if seemingly by accident. (As do you and her and him...) I don't know about yours, but in my universe there are no accidents, no whims... There's a reason for it all - like the sun through wooden blinds and the flush on your face as we make love on a broad daylight Sunday morning mass on TV in the next room - entirely unintentionally but as right as our holy sins, our perfect imperfections. |
