I feel like I saw into your heart tonight. I had been standing outside your window with a handful of rocks, ready to give you the world... And I just stood there. Arm raised, frozen with fear. I couldn't tell you the actual amount of time I spent waiting, But I think my hair grew a half an inch while I struggled with my thoughts. I also grew roots and anchored myself to the way I was feeling, prepared to stay in that place for a long time. I wasn't ready to find out if I would sink or swim. Not just yet. But tonight I closed my eyes tight and just aimed for you. It was time I let you know that I was there with something important to say. You opened up, if only just the curtains. Hey, it's a start. Maybe tomorrow the window will be wide open for me. |
