sunglasses, cold showers, smoky eyes, pavement cracks

There it goes again...

that burning sensation round my eyes
i feel my tears barely hanging on
i hope you never see them fall
as I wear my sunglasses on a rainy afternoon.

i find myself rushing to the shower
cold water washes away the tears
but no,  never the pain.
i pushed the curtain, my shirt soaking wet.

i walk the hallway
like a miserable fool
i gave them high fives
they couldn't figure
my loud, yet empty laughters
a fake smile pasted on my face
but then sad, smoky eyes just couldnt lie.

There it goes again...

i hear your voice in my office
i scampered for my headset.
i meet you downstairs.
i took the other way.
i feel the weight of your stare
i counted pavement cracks.

i put my brown shades again.
to feign misty eyes
while I count fractured pavements
and run for a thousand freezing showers.
