"Before you leave ... will you ... ???". This was her first question. I gave a quick answer, not a well thought of one... but may be the most convenient one. "NO" (...two letters are better than three). I went back to my office, ashamed of myself ... with a heavy stomp of my chest. Geezz, she could be a pain sometimes ... followed me through. :) Second question for the day ... "What if you asked anything something that night ... that night he ask you to ask anything ... that night? What do you think could have happened???" "I dunno know ... may be." Another short one from me "But how would you know ... you never did ask." Am making her impatient this time. Tbe third one went ... "Will you still ask ... ???" I sounded piqued,"I did my part, i had a few attempts. He rejected them all. Hey, Virginia, what else do you want this ishtupid girl to do?" ... Crush, break, grind, pulverized her heart before his sight ... to his pleasure ... how many more countless times??? She felt the tension ... and started heading to the door ... the the fourth and last one, "If just if, just like the first time he mustered the courage and ask you for dinner ... or a beer may be ...???" This time she didnt give me the chance to utter a word or two ... and in a commanding voice she said, "for God's sake ... grab it!!!" To cap the afternoon, she said in a more peaceful yet forceful voice ... "when the time comes, the two of you do not really have to talk about the past, the whys and why nots, the buts and ifs, who did what and who did not do what. We know that there are things left to be corrected, reinforced, my friend, let time do its job ... and time is in the present and future ... never in the past." Give it a chance naman ... parang maging masaya kayong totoo. ***Some times you have to move on ... without really looking back. This is kinda hard for someone who is a self-confessed Vindictive. But I can be reasonable, too ... Yes Virginia, you're right again ... 'am giving it a try this time. Promise di ko na sya sisindakin :) ... tomorrow, if by chance we meet at EDSA ... Ill give him my sweetest smile ... (pero quick lang kaya dapat attentive sya) hahaha . |
