random and helter activity like bees, birds or spiders busy and busier go here, do this go there, buy that take out the trash, take in the laundry wash the dishes, dust the shelves breathe in the ache of sore back, knees gritty eyes and hands and when it's done (it's never done) I sit back and enjoy (for the brief gleam of light left in the day) all my hard handiwork knowing that you see the love in the tasks when your smile lights the darkness and your kiss warms every cold part of me and your melting honey / whiskey gruff voice says "You look wonderful; now go Lie down... I'll be right there soon." anything worth doing is worth doing with love and every task done with a loving heart is less a chore than an art |
