A Love Story

"You love her, you want her
but she doesn't know.
What she knows is you don't love her
and never wanted her.
So she left.
But then she loves
and wants you
above anything else.
So now you sleep
with anyone
while you think
of the only one
you love and want.
Who now belongs to somebody
she's trying to love and want
the same way she loves and wants
You still."

*** a few days after new year's eve, re-groupin' with old, old friends.  catchin' up with each other's lives.  the last twenny-four months ... good or bad?  the one who hibernated challenged us with a question, with the intention to be funny :) ... of what was the meanest, hardest situation we ever had in the not so recent past.

One took the risk workin' overseas, left his family, begged for money to buy one-way ticket to get there, and begged again for money to come back home with shattered dreams.  He's now starting all over again.  (You can't put a good man down, huh especially the One with big dreams!)

Kiko's boyfriend got his girl pregnant, the girl now and the 1-year old boy live with Kiko, the boyfriend comes by every now and then and is confused as to which bed he needs to take,  the girl or Kiko's.  (Kiko seems to be having fun though :) ... he's not complaining at all :) :) )

My turn ... some kind of love i'd probably never get over with ... what could be worse than that.

They left with heavy hearts ... I got me nursin' a badly beaten, broken one.

PS:  I tried writing this piece in my head with tears, in Filipino.  I dunno, its just much tougher when I was trying to do that.  Filipino language could be harsh especially when its actually your native tongue.  Perhaps the familiarity makes it too personal ... deep-cut.  A foreign language made it more  politically-correct :) and socially-acceptable :).  I believed I was right with my choice, I wrote this like a pro.  A professional poet. Fearless. Tearless.

So there goes ...
