I woke up backwards this morning, my eyes already damaged from the heavy leaking, Before it had even happened. I savored the shower a bit too long, It took about 7 songs Or maybe more. The air has changed The fall has rearranged the furniture in my heart To make room for all my sacred company. I spent the day lingering in your every breath, Slowing down the world at my feet. Time might have stood still, there's no way I can measure it. Something seemed to be arriving early, Though I really have nothing to say about what would have been 'on time.' I knew you were readying to clear out the dust, Light was peeking through the gaps in my soul. Still, I wasn't paying enough attention. I didn't see the paths shifting. I was in ecstatic pain from my ego's bruising. I boxed your ears. You humbled and split my lip. I am on my knees in holy surrender. This dream is dreaming me. |
