about The Other Side Of Hate was so insightful and beautifully written... Makes one think...
Your philosophy of hate being the other side of love, or love being the other side of hate.....
Give reason to ponder.
It was told to me differently.... "hate is love turned inside out".
The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference...
Indifference shows no feeling whatsoever.
Hate is a very intense feeling, just like love is a very intense feeling....
If love has turned into hate,, that means there is still intense feeling....
When one is indifferent, then you know it is over.... because all feelings are gone....
Only one of many philosphies, but it sounds quite plausible, and seems to make sense

I have been where you are - so many times, that it is almost embarassing....
And what did I learn?? History repeats itself....
After spending many years, breaking up, and making up....
I finally learned my lessons....
I usually learn them the hard way, but then most people do.
I hope it works out differently for you....
Also...
Please read your poem The Other Side Of Hate again...
And be sure to read it OUT LOUD !!!
You speak of being afraid to take a chance on love again, but when you describe this relationship, you speak only of sex, passion, and lust....
If you are looking to rekindle a hot and physically pleasurable experience.... then "you go girl"!!!
But if love and forever is on your mind, you may be setting yourself up for more pain....

Wishing you wonderful experiences.....
Star lit nights...
And passionately powerful times....

Like you said....

"I open the door
That should remain closed.
When heartache knocks
Why must I welcome it in."

or more positively you said....

"So roll the dice
Take your turn
And lets this fire
Hotly burn"

Beautifully written, and painful truth !!
Hey Harem,

How the heck do you find time to write such bulk poetry?! Are you a stay-home mom, or what? Jeeze! Have you counted how many submissions you've made at the Blender? I'd be curious to know. WOW!! (and I thought I had submitted an unusual amount of entries last month! hehehehee!!)
Gala ~ thanks for the comments on Oedipus. As you know, I don't like my own poetry, but it's fun to write!!! Sounds like you know the story inside and out! Didn't Oedipus father Antigone? And what version/translation do you like to read? I just have one and it's not too impressive.

squeen ~ thank you too! You've been here forever, so it's very nice to know what you think! I showed Road Salt to a friend last night and he wondered who it was about. It's probably about a lot of drivers, but I don't know any of them. I'm working a second job as a dealer at a casino that is located at a truck stop, so I guess that's the inspiration. lol! (BTW: anyone wants extra cash...BIG and FAST...work a casino!!! Wow!)

madison ~ and you, girl. Thank you! You're always so sweet. I wanted to tell you I enjoyed shoddy. It was simple and to the point. I can only guess at what it refers to for you, but that's the great thing about a good poem, it can mean something, not only to the poet, but to the reader as well.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I do work full time !!!

Although, I must admit, I have had a lot of vacation time off this summer, which I have spent almost entirely at the pool, at the swim club. Friday and Saturday nights, I go clubbing and dancing... and Saturdays, I spend at the flea markets and garage sales...

My submissions are usually done during the week, as I am too busy on weekends.... as you probably notice...
except on Sundays, when I am winding down from the weekend.

About all the submissions, they are OLD... stuff, from before the upgrade.... that I polished and resubmitted...

Tanqueray Cowboy mentioned the same thing a month or so ago.. I submit in spurts - the old stuff - mostly from last February, March, April, and May - and some from about a year ago, when I started writing....

Foolled Yah !!!!

But thanks for the concern and comments anyway....

I guess you are right...

I probably have written more than anyone else here on the blender....

I was just checking....

Should I be embarassed ??? or ashamed ???

I think it might be because I had lots of stuff held inside for all these years.... and I just learned about writing about a year ago....

And it just pours out..... and pours, and pours and pours...

Even waking me up in the night, refusing to let me sleep...

The MUSES are making me do it.... !!!

Either that, or I just have a big mouth !!! *giggle

or perhaps, I am obsessed with writing -

in much the same way, that some people are obsessed with playing a musical instrument, acting, singing, painting, etc., etc....

p.s. I never watch TV.... I have not watched TV since I was a little girl.... just every now and again.... Watching TV feels like a punishment to me....

So I have a lot of extra spare time to write...

Yes, I would rather write, sew, cook, wash the car, mow the lawn, make love, kiss, dance, swim, listen to music, make love, bake, iron, wash clothes, kiss, write, read others writing, make love, wiggle, giggle, fantasize, have a nap, or kiss....

*blush

It's Sunday, and I am unwinding from this weekend....
I am a mess....
August Blender is here.

Dang it, slow response times from the Blender's webserver and all my linkexchange banner's being busted are driving me truly batshit. Don't know if it's the Code Red worm or my webpublisher or Microsoft's damn takeover of linkexchange or a combination of the above. God, ditching or fixing all the banner ads would be a pain to a huge degree.
Hey Harem! :-) ~ not disappointed in the least. Sounds like you have a ton of time to write and play right now and that's cool! What do you do for work, if you don't mind me asking? Didn't you mention once that you had a few kids? I, myself, am a detention officer and am now working a second job as a casino dealer, as I mentioned previously, and am now the single mom of two great kids. Soon I am going to be employing The Guppy as a cabanna boy / personal (*ahem*) "assistant"...regardless of what Gala says!!

Anyway, I'm off to pay some bills!! See ya on the Blender!
