MichaelT(), thank you for your comment of August 14th. "TJ ~ I'm 5 is brilliant and inspiring. Here's to a happy 32, 33, etc.." Made me feel nice! I'm pretty convinced that life just gets better and better, so I'll bet 32 and 33 and so on will be greater and greater!!!

(Hey Gala...I'm baaaack! But the 'puter's down, I have no server or something, so I won't be talkin' to ya any time soon.)

Ack!!! No offense personally Harem, but I DESPISE, LOATHE, DETEST, ABHOR, etc. etc. the backstreet boys. I call them 'slackbeat noise', or better...the 'backdoor boys'. Of course, they DO have fans...my 8 year old daughter (and most of her peers) adores them! lol! (I dunno, it's after midnight, I'm working nights, and I just HAD to slam down my unsolicited opinion about the 'backyard toys'...so sue me! Heeheeheee!!!)

To TJHolland ~
Thanks for sharing your feelings about the Backstreet Boys... and yes I do respect your feelings...
Lots of young people like the Backstreet Boys... true, mostly kids like them.
I overlook their youthful following, however, and go by my own taste..
And I hate to admit it, but I absolutely "LOVE" the Backstreet Boys - especially their Millenium Album.!!!!

But then I love to dance, and love the beat of "Larger than Life".
I have been told to act my age...
But then age is timeless, or time is ageless. whatever.
I should be asleep also... but I am not.
I am just a wiggler... who loves a good throbbing beat.
But I do love lots of their other music too.

I Love funky music, jazz, red hot rock, soft romantic music, waltzes, classical music, pop, country western, polkas, parade music... you name it, I love it..... are we talking nutty person here, or what?

And considering that I can also be so square (I play the accordion), it
amazes people that I can love some of the new stuff so much.

Being a Harem of many women in one, it is not surprising that I even like some rap (can't touch this), the marcarena (wiggle wiggle) and love all sorts of music, both new and old.... Englebert Humperdink (yum), Perry Como (*sigh), Jerry Vale, Roger Whitaker, Tom Jones, Soul Asylum, 60's music, Queen, Credence Clearwater Revival (big wiggle), The Big Band Era, symphonies, reggae, and I could go on endlessly.....

Thanks for the input, TJ.... *wink....
I love it when people are honest !!!!! *sigh

Now, I have to jump in the shower and get ready for work.!!

5 am already ???? *giggle.....
terry, just some girl, violet – your reaction on the elderly lady in nantucket almost embarrasses me. (embarrass me some more, please) I liked her, but didn’t expect anyone else to be as fond of her, too. I’m delighted. thank you.

Hi Gang.

Things seem to be a little quieter lately, perhaps the Summer Dog Days (or midwinter chill for those on the other half of the planet) have gotten to us.

Just a vague comment, I know (mostly via some e-mail someone wrote me, I'm in my usual 'don't pay much attention to new submissions 'til the end of the month' mode) there seems to be a touch of parodying going around. Now the examples I've seen seem reasonably nicely spirited, and not too unkind; I ask any parody writers to keep it light, and any parody targets to take it in good humor... I know it can be tough to feel that your work is being mocked. (Someone once wrote a dead-onparody of my posting style on my school's usenet group; I wish I had saved a copy, it was actually pretty funny.)

ANYWAY... I have an exciting opportunity for the women writers on this board. I received an e-mail from a woman named Anna Holmes who is assembling a collection of women's "Poison Pen" letters, generally marking of commemorating the end of a relationship. She has collected a large collection from some well-known figures, but is looking to round out the collection with some modern women.

So I ask two things: if you decide to send her some letters, please mention the loveblender connection. Also, and this probably more important, please keep in mind that she is *not* the loveblender... she's undertaking a largish work in a traditional medium, and might not be expecting the kind of spontaneous and voluminous nature sometimes associated with the Blender. You probably shouldn't send her more than one or tops two letters, and they should be well proofread (unless, of course, the unproofread nature ties in deeply with the authenticity of them.)

You can see her letter to me here:
Geez!
When I said a few weeks back that I thought August was going to be a good month I had no idea just how good it would be!

Lots of wonderful stuff from many of the regular voices... including, but certainly not limited to, BK, Gala, Terry, Echo... and yes...

Madison...

Let me add my own gushing praise for "Nantucket." It's beautiful! You've successfully created an exquisite photograph using only words. A picture worth a thousand words? Only when those words are rough hewn and poorly choosen. Here your words paint a vignette more touching than any simple canvas. Emotional impact with subtly. Thanks.

Unchained... great stuff, too. Very consistant throughout all your submissions.

Stephen... thanks for the nod on "93." If you liked it, I'm glad. Hell, I didn't even like it. I'm sure it's too bitter for what Gala had in mind but it's all I could come up with. It suits my mood, I guess.

Harem/TJ... Got a kick out of the Backstreet Boys "discussion!" I've got to say -- emphatically -- that I agree with TJ. I think it's worth mentioning, though, that behind every made-for-MTV, bubble-gum, pop group there are talented songwriters. What Harem submitted were lyrics likely penned by a writer (or writers) who will never know widespread, popular acclaim. Those liner notes are there for a reason... let's give credit were credit is due. <stepping down from soap box now>

Thanks to all...
Someone fragile...and sensitive...would do something that low and shitty? Mock out someone in pain, and trying to vent....Wow. That is so incredibly low. Can't imagine what sort of low life bottom feeding pond scum would do such a thing...but then, I have a life. No time for viscious crap from idiots.
Hello All,

I am quite new to the Blender and wanted to express my deepest respect and gratitude for the sharing. So many of you are honest to the point of painful catharsis. I revel in your ability to put emotion into word onto paper. I hope that at some point (I am in the infancy of my submissions here) that I will touch one of you as so many of you raise my eyes in glory for the written word.

I came upon the Blender by accident - actually searching for a blender! She loves margaritas. I am glad that I found enlightenment instead.

Good Day, Rhet
