Hi all. : )
I want to post a poem about SEX (or maybe two or three) and wonder at the wisdom of doing that as a woman. Think I'll leave it for a day and see what you say. No comment I can attach in the field seems appropriate enough, don't take it seriously enough - heck, I'm just plain nervous (blunt as I am) at reactions I may get from the hullabaloo. And of course I don't mind if people respond with their own poems, but a bad 'fuck' response would be a bit much.
And yes, I know I had no prob posting the Bugger poem - but bugger has a slightly different meaning in Oz than it does in America I have discovered (more an everyday swearword here - don't know what that says about Aussies?). So...
What to do? Leave it out? Warning? My bleeding heart is healing nicely (maybe someone prayed for me? Thanks), I don't want to disturb it right now, and the sexy stuff posted presently seems to have been done so by men, not original, not that I'm criticising because I know very well that songs are very powerful and I for one truly enjoy reading them and posting them (yes, they moved me - somewhere - deep, going to bed soon) , it's just yeah - I wrote some of my own sexuality and thoughts on it out (not masculine vrs feminine stuff either). Maybe I just scared myself again, but that aside, some advice would be very much appreciated. Love, Chances
PS Continue to enjoy posting and reading poems, I'm trying not to internalise or dwell on them, just let the words that connect and heal do so, and those that inspire me in a direction I feel I should take do so. There have been many beautiful thoughts and feelings.

Catching up on my reading...say, anybody who thought 8 MILE was HOMOPHOBIC is just plain butt-ugly DUMBer'n a sack of doorknobs. Been taking too many of them there cinamer classes up to the junior college, huh? Anybody that is quoting love poems from a tragic story of the evils of the porn industry on this website is jus' LOOKING fer a good rhetorical bitch-slappin, aon't they? Yes, Jen, we're all really impressed with your vast knowledge and mastery of the creative muse...however, some of us know that you are really just a sad gender-confused moron that seems to enjoy ruinong people's lives. Now THAT is really impressive!

Jon,
Your poem, "I Will Still Love Her" is nothing short of amazing. I've read and reread it more than I want to admit, and it moves me with the same force every time.
I've read other poems you've written and they're outstanding as well. I can only hope there is a deserving female out there who serves as your inspiration.

I.S., you are a card! If your remark about Eight Mile wasn't so on-the-money I'd call you a homophobe. Hmm. Figure that one out. I wouldn't be so hard on whatshername, tho - believe me, not too long ago when she thought I was you (for some bizarre reason), there were definitely still feelings there. So it ain't over til the fat lady sings, my man. On the other hand, it's over if it's, uh, over. Chicks tend not to dig stalker-types. Now, I realize I am a flamingly-gay man, but this is a piece of wisdom I've picked up somewhere along the primrose path. I would think academic life would be stimulating and challenging enough to speed-up the moving-on process, but what do I know? I DO know that there has been some incredible new poetry here as of late. These newbies are tearin' it up, no doubt. And with that I bid you all a sunny San Diego OVER and OUT (and remember to keep an eye out for those Smokies . . .) ;)

I'm glad you're impressed, Atomic Hiroshima. I checked out your past works, wish you'd written a little more yourself so that I could say the same. Guess I don't need to write a poem about sex to get a bad 'fuck' response, eh? Love, Chances
PS StIll waiting till tonight to post 'em because that's what I intend to do. Thanks to y'all for your advice et al.
