Tony Spivey – Without You is absolutely beautiful
Just wondering, does anyone here really love the book 'Birthday Letters' - Ted Hughes? It's one of my absolute favourites. Another one is 'How Green Was My Valley' but I didn't like the sequels.

First a line, and then a rhyme, or not. Then it just comes out. Love your work. I sat and tried to write of 'Green", and just got lost. It's when i don't try that the words flow.

Rennie, thanks for the link. I know about loss, it's the letting go I have trouble with. But the renewal of Spring is upon us, my daffodils are blooming, and the pain of loss is falling behind me. I am not going to carry this load into a new relationship. I agree that that is folly. Thanks for your thoughts.
Rennie,
I appreciate your candor and your kindness...I, like most, am reaching for a balance in myself and with my significant other...the dynamics of any relationship can be alike, but has it's differences...with a long term relationship there are changes, complications and hopefully growth...Today we are choosing to work to solve the problems, plan for the future, but in reality we have the idea that no one knows what tomorrow will bring....My parents were married for 36 years when they divorced and my Daddy passed away nine months later...My husband's parents are both alive and have been married for nearly 52 years...
Paul~ can you ever slam out a line. I have to read more than one time on each of your works to absorb the full impact of all you have to write here!

gunner~ I am so glad to see you back in action here. You are a fine poet, and I look forward to reading anything you write. Had just gotten a comms from VVHP on a request they post a link to you book. Will forward to you if you like.

CryingShame~ My father died when I was a young adult. My parents often had a cold war going. I was driven with the idea of not trying marriage. But I did several years after most of my friends were married, divorced and married again. I was married 27 years before he was killed. I married a very good friend, but it was not a romantic match. We lost an infant son. Tragedies, instead of happiness, seemed to hold us together. Life is never easy, so it is best to find the best person who makes you happy and secure in this rough world we live in. I applaud you for trying and sharing here. I wish the best for you. I am always happy to see a romance and love match happen with any couple. Seeing folks like Chris and Misti get together here have helped me believe that romance can still happen.

Jim~ I wish the best for you. Life can work out. When it didn't, you sure got an education in what not to do, didn't ya? More power to you for the spring and chance at real love. You may let-go with a lover, but you don't have to give up the good memories. Just remember they are only that = memories. You need to get out there and make new ones. Blender is filled with good poets and caring folks. There is always a kind word or a push in the right direction here :) ..... Rennie
