Kaylee Anne; It's great to get things like this out of your system and then move on. Don't dwell on it, move on and do the best you can do for yourself. If you don't it will only hurt you.
Poetry is beautiful in many ways, not only thru the rhyme or thought, but even through the patten of worlds that lead to a rhythym all its own.

One of the most poetic of all writings is what we find in the Bible. Even after being translated, it still holds a charm with its way with words.

Ever read scriptures that made you feel as if you were floating upon them ?

David, was one of the most fluent man of words. His Psalms are still with us today, and leave a legacy of beauty that has not been captured by many writers today.

Don't you agree ?

THE LYRICS OF PSALMS

"There is no portion of the Bible that is
as frequently read as the book of Psalms.
The book of Psalms is a collection of 150
lyric poems. A lyric poem is defined as
"that which directly expresses the individual
emotions of the poet." Religious lyric poetry
reflects the inner feelings of the person
whose soul is stirred by thoughts of God.
The Psalms are thus inspired responses
of various individuals to God's revelation
of Himself in the Old Testament era."
Hebrew Poetry was quite different from what we have today.

The Nature of Hebrew Poetry

"Unlike our modern poetry, which is designed to rhyme,
Hebrew poetry is characterized by a rhythmic arrangement
of thought patterns. This is called "parallelism."
Scholars distinguish several types of parallelism."

"There is, for instance, Synonymous Parallelism.
This is where a thought is uttered; then, the same
idea is expressed again in slightly different terms.
For example : "O Jehovah my God, in thee do I take
refuge: Save me from all them that pursue me, and
deliver me" (Ps 7:1). "
-The Book of Psalms - A Study
Christian Courier: Archives
Thursday, May 18, 2000

"There is also Antithetic Parallelism
in which the second line is set in contrast
to the previous line. For example :
"For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous;
But the way of the wicked shall perish" (Ps 1:6)."

"The sacred poetry of the religions of ancient paganism
has faded in the dust of oblivion. Scarcely anyone at all
can quote a line of it. And yet the Psalms are as fresh
as if written yesterday. How can this be? There is but one
explanation; they were invigorated by the Spirit of the
Living God. Let us bathe our souls in this spring of
divine truth."
Just - My Two Cents.... -

By the way, I am wreaking havoc on the Political Blender Board - and I am not a naughty bad boy.... but rather have something to say that I really feel is true.

I will take this time to apologize to Kirk and the Blender people - if they take my words in a tone that they were not intended.

I do belive that since Kirk labeled the politics board as a place for not only political talk and debate, but also for controversial issues - That I indeed have a place there to voice my opnions as well.

I think that my comments on the political board may be just the diversion it needs - especially in times where the other writers are getting angry with each other, and spilling hot venomous words about their differing opinions on the Democratic and Republican parties.

Just when things get really hot - I jump in with my wit and rhetoric about the political diversions of the religious element. It is not only humorous and entertaining to the readers - but is just the needed diversion for the other writers to sit down in their corners and cool off a bit.

And yet, I remain in the political aspect of the arena, since the "kingdom" has always been considered a political government by both the Jews and the Christians.

Thanks for letting me share - My Two Cents.

Two cents is a small amount of money. But sometimes
it is needed to be able to purchase the goods.
Or at least help in the sales tax. LOL.

Thanks Again.
I am well aware that this is a poetry site.
And a romantic one at that.

I have never submitted any poetry on here.

But I did think that the Ancient Poetry forms
was interesting - and appropriate for people
that are trying to articulate their poems
and poetry styles.

So I thought my sharing Hebrew poetry forms
might be interesting and helpful.

Sorry B.k. if I have offended you.
It appears that everyone here offends you
at one time or another, so I will take it
with a grain of salt.
My Kingdom Government Political comments I do
reserve for the political comments board,
as you have observed. I never put my political
comments out here

Is there anything you don't hate except for Kerry ?

You are a bully here - but are you like that in real life too ?

You seem to be a very angry person that vents out a
lot of venemous vibes here and on the political board.
I guess we all have to vent somewhere.

But are you like this all the time ?

Just wondering.
Good stuff on Hebrew poetry. Just as a lot of the best music has come out of religion so has some of the most beautiful imagery and poetry. However, the reason that "[t]he sacred poetry of the religions of ancient paganism has faded in the dust of oblivion...yet the Psalms are as fresh as if written yesterday" isn't because the psalms are somehow better or more "true". The main reason is that (a) the Psalms were written down and (b) the Psalms were written down *in English*.

A lot of the sacred pre-Christian poetry and ritual wasn't written down so didn't survive into today (for example the cult of Mithras). What was written down was obviously in Sumerian or some other language and so is not as accessible. As more ancient texts get translated more of this ancient poetry is being made available, though, and it's worth trying to find. One of the best is "Thunder Perfect Mind" -- a beautiful example of religious poetry (Sumerian I think) which shows a lot of the same characteristics attributed to Hebrew poetry such as parallelism. You can read it at http://www.stoa.org/diotima/anthology/thunder.shtml -- there's a commentary at the end that's quite good

and artificats and such.
I was wondering about your name. Does it have a special meaning. I find it very fascinating (your name).
I probably won't be commenting much here, because,
this is romantic poetry and I am not really into that.
DIVERSITY - is the big thing right now.

Many coporations are investing a lot of time and money into Diversity Awareness and Diversity Training.

So what is Diversity training?

It's the ability to get along with other people that are different than you are. The world is filled with people with different backgrounds, different moral values, different ideas, different thoughts, different likes and dislikes. It goes beyond different races and religions, and different skin colors and hair types. It encompasses the whole world of differences between us all.

Many Corporations will not allow or tolerate mistreatment of others just because they are different. Lawsuits are avoided and trouble in the work environment are also avoided too - when people with different ideas and traits, are tolerated and treated fairly.

This includes verbal assaults. Anyone verbally attacking others, due to their diverse differences, is automatically fired in most big corporations today. They cannot and will not tolerate verbal abuse of another because of race, religion, sexual preference, color, politcal preference, social differences, etc.

Miss B.K., it is one thing to differ from another in your faith, feelings, political preferences, etc. and yet another to be rude an caustic in your comments to them. If you did this in public during work hours at most large companies today, you would be reprimanded and possible terminated from your employment there.

This is not a matter of freedom of speech, but freedom from being abused by others - either verbally or physically, due to diversity of differences.

Most of the big banks and larger corporations in America will not allow it. You can cuss and call names on your own time, but not on company premises or company time. Termination is almost imminent.

I belive that this attitude toward verbal abuse of other just because they are different is going to become more widespread as time goes on. They just simply will not allow abuse of people because of their diversity.

Miss B.k. - it has nothing to do with religion or politics, or reganomics = but a matter of human decencey to your fellow man. We all need to respect the rights of others to think differently than we do, and to make different choices than we do. And that is in every aspect of life. I might like roses and you prefer daisies - does that mean that I should tell you to shit in your plastic diapers ?

If I like burnt toast and you like it slightly brown, does that mean that you have the right to call me derrogatory names ?

Every time you write or say a nasty, ugly comment to someone beccause they have different thoughts than you, or different ideas, or different opinions - You become a callous, mean person - that leaves a mark - identical to punching or kicking someone. You become worse than the pople that you rudely and viciously berate with your horrible, rude comments.

B.K. lets face it , you have become a verbal terrorist,
who will NOT tolerate anyone that thinks differently than you. No one ever taught you that everyone in the world is NOT going to see eye to eye with you on everything.

You remind me of a mad child that can't have his way, and whenever he is faced with something he doesn't agree with or doesn't like - He starts screaming and crying and kicking and punching - But you do it with your mouth.

Let's hope you don't work for any company that has rules for Diversity Acceptance - for you will be fast without a job.

In todays world, you can't go around making fun of people just because they don't always agree with you - in the Corporate World. They won't tolerate it.

But of course on here and in newspapers, and journals you can say what you want. It's your natural freedom of speech. But deep down inside - How happy are you ?

Tolerance of others is a prerequisite of liking yoursself.
or is liking yourself, able you to be tolerant of others ?

I forget how it goes.

And cancer research shows that people that are constantly stressed out and angry - without self control - and spitting out anger and obsenities most of the time - are prime candidates for cancer, because their body releases harmful chemicals = every time that they get angry. Even heart attacks and strokes are more prevalent with those that cannot control their tempers.

They put cancer patients in rooms where comedy shows were played on a regular basis and many of the cancer patients went into remission.

It takes a lot of muscles in your face to frown.
And only a few to make you smile.

"A calm and undisturbed mind and heart
are the life and health of the body,
but envy, jealousy, and wrath
are like rottenness of the bones."
(Proverbs 14:30) (AMP)

"A happy heart is good medicine
and a cheerful mind works healing,
but a broken spirit dries up the bones."
(Proverbs 17:22) (AMP)

"Intelligent people are always open to new ideas.
In fact, they look for them."
(Proverbs 18:15) (NLT)

"Every way of a man is right in his own eyes."
(Proverbs 21:2) (ASV)

We all think that we are right in our own minds, but we should also learn to be tolerant of other's rights to be different; to think differently, to act differently, and to live differntly.

It's a matter of human rights.

mytwocents -- Echolocation is what sonar does: you send out a 'ping' and when it's reflected back you can tell something about what's out there. Bats use it and so do submarines. It occurred to me that poems posted to here are like pings sent out into an unknown void. When the ping is reflected back (in this case via people's comments) I learn something about the thing that reflected it, I learn something about the place I'm in, and sometimes (if I'm lucky) I learn something about myself. So it seemed appropriate.
