The girl I was currently seeing and I used to communicate through poems on the board when we were having problems in the relationship. | TJ Holland | I had this really bad habit of marrying men with a 'different' intellect than mine. The first husband would fall asleep, or look at me the same way a turnip might look at a person upon being pulled from the dark ground. The second husband loved it, but didn't understand it. Then he'd try to write something that usually ended up making me feel embarassed for him. I'd have to pretend to like it. I stopped sharing because it was so uncomfortable. I've known/'seen' some men who could identify and communicate on that level, but I wasn't physically attracted to any of them. Now I'm just holding out for a sexy, intellectual, passionate writer. | Savannah Haze | Very little poetry... more of my prose. Don't know if it's because my poetry tends to be more personal OR because it's my weakest writing and I'm self-conscious. My ex was fairly critical of what I wrote or acted like he didn't care at all. I let my husband read some of my essays before we married so he'd understand me better. I have let him read a few poems and he seemed to like them. |
