I'm from the US. Anyone here from the south? Confidential to Jimmyallgrownup-- Keep on writing what feels right in your heart and don't worry about people that don't "get" it. Be who you want to be. I personally think you have a sense of humor about you, which is a key asset, for even the most serious writer. "Homos in the Hood" made me think, though... Have you ever noticed that there are never and MOB members or ganster types on TV that are given a "gay" sterotype, either. Just think-- Tony on the Sopranos wearing pink high heels?? ;)

I was born and raised and still still in a small town in upstate SC. Which parts of South Carolina are you familiar with? Which coast do you prefer? The thought of LA has always scared me. Was it hard to get used to Cally?

I grew up in the upstate in Greenwood! Just got done talking with my mom & dad and the ice storm is on the way. It's such a small world, you & I probably know each other. The coasts are so vastly different that it's hard to compare. I will always be partial to the SC coast. We grew up going to Pawley's Island, Mt.Pleasant and now Edisto Island. I have one sister in Texas but my parents are still in Greenwood. How about you?

(Big move, 12 whole miles) Now I'm back in the same house I was raised in.
