BK: thanks for the note, re: Songbird. I was upstairs at her band's practice while she was downstairs in the parlour belting out one of her best originals, and the words just came. Love it when that happens. :)

As to web whackos, Gala, you have my sympathy. They really aren't everywhere, it just seems like that. And I'm a *big* Star Wars fan, so I know whereof I speak. :)

Ah, Padraig's Day is near upon us, and cyberspace is faily leakin' Irish people! :) I'm not (that I know of), but love the place, the history, the people, (and their horses!) and the language! Hey, Gala, how about an Irish challenge in March, in honour of the Green Saint and his Emerald Isle? Go raibh maith agat!

Blessings, all!

An irish love challenge????????

Let's see...St Patrick is out...he was suppose to be celibate. Snakes and love? Too Fruedian. It will have be green then...

Ok kids...here's the deal.

"Green" being a nice fertile word...let's see what you can cook up with no more than ONE actual use of the word green,
but as many suggestions of it as you can.

And of course, I has to be a love poem, naturally.

For example...

The newfound fuzz on a birthing leaf...
the deep intensity of pond scum...
the same shade as jealousy in someone's eyes...

DO remember of course, that green can also mean seasick...and I really HATE poems that spew.

We'll call Saturday Midnight the deadline---and i'm not sure if Kirk will have time to do anything with the winners or not...

But Luck o' the irish to you....

Gala ~ How bizarre. Too bad your 'stalker' can't come clean and admit that she admires all that you do, instead of turning it around to make herself feel better for not having your talent.
Hell, if you the ability to 'make eyes' at someone online, I'm jealous of you too :-P

Hello CryingShame58

I was actually raised one mile from Lousiana in a place called Vicksburg, Mississippi. Very historical place for those who like Civil War history.

Yes, I have traveled here and there but not nearly as much as I would have liked ...I still have a million places that I want to leave my footprints (past travel has primarily been due to work).

I have actually visited Shreveport before. Nice place. However, I absolutely love New Orleans! I have a step-brother who went there about three years ago and hasn't been heard from since. It's certainly a place where one can get vanish and never surface again.

Thanks for the info on how you came up with your blender name. We certainly have some unusual "blender names" but I enjoy the diversity.

As for your comment regarding your blender name...you again have tugged at my curiousity so I look forward to hearing the rest of the details. Therefore...I'll take you up on your offer regarding your e-mail address.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care.
Hi ,crystal.

I read your poem after reading the blender board.

You described things very well.sounds like you had

a very good time.lol.I'm new here and have read a

lot of poems. Everyone has their own way of expressing

themselves. Yours is ,well like it is. You don't hold

anything back. Some think love is romance and kisses.

But love is also sex.I liked your poem. Yea ,I'm a guy

But you can express your feelings with poetry on this

site anytime you like as far as I'm concerned. keep

the poetry coming. The_poet.
Babydoll,
I am familiar with the song "What would you do?" and it grated on my nerves when it was popular. Seeing the lyrics made me cringe. Plus, it should be "his Daddy's gone, somewhere smokin' rock now, in and out of lock down, he ain't got a job now" You have "smoking creak"(sic). I've never dabbled that far into drug culture myself, but how the hell would you smoke a creak? You could also try to credit the source of the song instead of leading one to the false assumption that you wrote it. Really romantic selection, there. Excuse me now, I have to go beat my head on the wall for a while to rid my head of that God-awful chorus!!!

ladyinwaiting- thank you for reading my writings.
I was actually speaking of a couple of certain someone elses, I just didn't want to direct it specifically at no one cause like I said, I could be so far off base as to be thought a lunatic...lol.
Of course if I am not off base than "you know who you are"
I just took some time out to read through some of your poetry. I especially liked trunk. Reading it was almost like taking a journey of that type myself. Heart wrenching and comforting all at once.
Although a different type of poem, I also liked zipper. Keep up the good writing.
re the 'What Would You Do?' - hadn't heard the song and didn't know of its existance when I posted a poem by the same title. Just to clear up doubt.
