I'm back! Reading the board first and see that I missed someone's birthday...I hate it when that happens....

Wolfscreamser,
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY "Wolf"! I hope it was as fun as mine always are...BTW, it's always good to meet another WINE-OH!
Hope your hubby had some time off this weekend and your family enjoyed the time together...
the rain never stops us on memorial day weekend...a couple of years ago the chance of rain was 80%...when we shoved off in our canoe the sun was brightly shining, but within 20 minutes not only were we paddling through a thunderstorm...it ended up being a flash flood! the canoe trip usually takes four to six hours depending on how many times we stop to take a break which consists of a dip in a swimming hole or to have a shore lunch...that year the canoe trip was a quick two hour trip along with adventurous white water, although, we observed over 50 girl scouts that weren't so happy...they were miserably cold and frightened. This year it rained for only thirty minutes during the canoe trip and the sun came out the rest of the day...of course, it rained early Sunday morning, but didn't affect/effect our hike from musgrove swimming hole to winding staircase on Little Missouri River...In fact, the cool snap helped speed our journey...no perspiration!

We had a great time, but my 22 year old son was unable to go along this time...a close friend of my son was in a tragic motorcycle accident and was killed. my son is deeply affected/effected by this loss...I will be contacting the friend's family this week...

I will be trying to read everyone's submissions soon...
I think your comment about parents couldn't get through what the teenagers go through now is/was very interesting...
I wonder if you understand that it's hard for us to protect our children from the elements and influences...as a parent that has raised two, I have prayed many, many times that my children would/will survive...I have witnessed several of my children's friends that have not survived and this is scary for a parent...some parents try to "control" every little thing in order to protect their children and then there are the parents that ignor or where blinders...we all are trying to cope/deal with the problems of our youth in the best way that we can...I think I will be even more scared if and when I have grandchildren...At this time, I am relieved that mine are 22 and 19, but no one is promised of tomorrow...all we have is today so I try to stay in the NOW...make this the best day of my life...
Your kids may not thank you now or ever about you being there for them but beleive me it is well appreciated. Im glad to see that there are some parents who really do care about their kids and just dont tell them that they are wussies or anything that sort because growing up is one of the hardest times in a kids life and even though we act big and bad and we dont need help thats when we need it the most. I read up here before about people critisizing teens/Children who cut. Well dont critisize i dont do it but i know a few who does and if you have a problem with it find other ways to influence them in good ways. You may never know if you have kids and when you do(if you do hopefully) then they could be doing it without you even knowing ;) so there is just a little hint. Most of the kids who do it dont tell anyone about it sometimes not even their closest friends. Thank you all for your time and effort on your kids and even if they act like they dont appreciate i really do alot and you are doing such a great thing for this world.
Look i have hard feelings for you and personally i really dont like you. but i know alot of things you go threw and i hope everything goes good for you and who is the gurl that you really like? Maybe if it is possible i could help you out because if you honestly like/love a gurl that much then they dont know what they could be missing out on.
Kindred_Spirit49- I kind of got the inspiration from the Dixie Chicks song, but I've never heard the whole song before, I've only heard bits and pieces. I just wanted to have something for Memorial Day and also dealing with romance. I hope you liked it though.

i understand what your saying in ur point of veiw also, and the part about how a parent treats a child, if the parent has lock down on the child where they can never do anything or have a social life then thats really not good for the kids, and alot of times the child/teen ends up being worse then the parent thought. but if the parent allows the child/teen to have prevleges"cant spell" and allow them to have a life..and real teenage life but still have some rules they have to fallow then the child should do this fine. and about the cutting thing that toon mentioned, i believe that if an adult finds out that their child/teen cuts then its betta to find out why then to jump all over them about it. so i guess i agree w/ what toon said also. <dunno if i came out confussing..

toon,
i understand u dont really like me as a person, and im fine w/ that. but not to bring up anything from the past, it wasnt my fault, and i wish i could have changed what happend, but i cant...srry for everything from b4. and about the girl that im talking about in the post iv done, you dont know her...but thanx for...trying to help?!?!.... but if its ment to be thne it will be, but we are actually working it out and every things going good so far.!
Rennie, Kindred, Chances---Recieved your emails, thanks! I've been getting radiation treatments because of a mass on my kidney. It's not cancer, but they're still trying to shrink it to avoid surgery. I promise I'm getting to the poetry, I'm just having to take a few days off and rest.

Chances and Rennie-- I've already mostly poured through your back files and I know what I think fits what I'm looking for. I'll email yall in a day or two. I'm sorry it's taking so long.

Kindred-- I haven't forgot you either!! :) I'm reading your back log now, but I think I'm going to rest my eyes and get some sleep.
Thanks, you guys, for your interest and for sharing your knowledge and talents with me. God Bless and Good night.
I appreciate your comments and I think I would be understanding to a point to someone that is being self destructive...It isn't normal behavior to cut anyone, including yourself, and I hope that I could influence my child or someone I love to seek professional guidance...
