aparajita - thankyou, your quite the gem yourself. from the first day i joined this place based on advice from soneone from lj you(and others) have been here writing, talking and generally making this a welcoming lively place. from what i've gotten to know about you, i can honestly say that if i met you id probably enjoy your company quite a bit "fluffy" or not. i usually just go ahead and write too, whatever comes to my head or heart travels down my arm to my fingers and then ink on paper. its only afterwards that i look at it and go, "huh, i did this there and used that there...." i've forgotten alot of terms from english but some just stuck with me. but even after i learnt different terms and such, it still came down to the words and if they moved me. being analytical is ok sometiems, but other times its better just to feel a work. anyways i should stop blabbering. i have a tendency to rant.... glad i got a smile out of ya though.

rennie - you guys aint that old, plus your young at heart and thats what counts aint it? i'm sure i've got quite a few to go though. take care
blessed23: uh oh. Is there a real author out there whose name I share? Interesting! Maybe I'll check that out too! In the meantime, all the writings here under my name, with the exception of one or two like Sheryl Crow to whom I gave credit, are my writing. But thanks for the heads up!

Ali, thanks again for the congrats! I feel very deeply that my new husband and I have the right attitude and that I finally at least started something in the right way. A working relationship, huh. Just like any, right? Only, more. Being in each other's corner, first and foremost. Being each other's biggest fan. I am more relaxed in this relationship than ever before. There is no angst. Perhaps my writing will suffer, but I'll gladly read y'all's and remember. And remember. And feel with you. And hope that somewhere, for all of you, there is a place where the angst goes away, where there is peace, where you have somebody in your corner whom you know wants to be just as deeply as you want them to be. Thanks for letting me share my happiness here, because boy have I shared the opposite, over and over.

hairdiva: girl, share! spread your happiness around here like this incredible california sunshine i've been basking in all week. i for one will enjoy living vicariously. since i have also been divorced now for 12.5 years i will use your story to inspire my hope for the future (one of which i truthfully had given up on finding). i've learned to be happy from within... without. i actually spend time with my favorite person each day, the one that i know i can rely on every day, someone who makes me laugh all the time, and a person i genuinely like as well as respect.... me. and please believe none of that was meant in any narcissistic way nor in a poor pitiful me way. it has been a long uphill battle to get to where i am and comfortable in my own skin. writing here has been some pretty good therapy.

shout out and special thanks to my friend ladyinwaiting since she's the reason i've had this safe haven and been able to make the blender friends i've been blessed with. keep her in your healing thoughts as she's had surgery and is now recovering.

marsh, i know what you mean and blushingly thank you. the likes of rennie, bk, lady, ali, bp, my man wolfscreamer, jack, jim, kevin, chris, oh gosh and so many others, were the ones that made this place my welcoming spot. the kind encouraging words from rennie were the soothing balm i needed to keep purging and begin healing. it is such a great feeling to know that i've passed that along too. i am a nurse and a caretaker by nature, always of others first and myself by accident. haha. it is the talent of you and all the other 'newer' writers that keeps this place alive and well. inspiration...
Congrats all around, and thanks to Savannah Haze for her great challenge.
I know things have kind of slowed down in terms of site updates. I do have one more feature update planned for today. Don't want to say anything 'til it's in place though.

Ok, the new feature I talked about is here: now when you view a work, the "Add a comment" feature brings up an in-page form that respects the login, rather than to the old add a comment page. I'm not 100% sold on the layout...maybe there should be a link after the work, rather than before? The thing is, it seems like an "Add A Comment" might look kind of ugly underneath the work, unless I figure out how to visually seperate it from the work itself.

Still feeling my way around on the new front page, and thanks for all the work you've put into it, Kirk. Thanks for the front page pick with The Older Omen. Yes, sad teen times, and made me determined never to be this kind of floozie or be suckered into this mess again.

Congrats to all the other front pagers! And, thanks for all the subs this past month. I'm still behind reading many of these, but glad to see the postings in subs and on the board. What a supportive community! ...... Rennie

Well, due to the new changes, can't use the new subs or access any of the accounts submissions. Guess, since this is also an omen, of sorts, that it is time to move on. Widowed ten years ago today, and finally severed ties with Capt. Enough of hammering old loves. Take care, all ...... Rennie

Kirk; Congratulations on the new look (I like it a lot!) Thanks for all that you do for us and this community. We are truly grateful for this haven of expression. Thanks for the pick, always a joy to see my written words on this most favorite of web pages.

Violet; Congratulations on that winning poem. So lovely, it reminded me of nursing and cuddling in family bed. It's some of the best there is of this life and a memory that will glow golden along with your poem in times to come.

Rens; I have a quick fix for the moment on this computer but will have to buy a new one soon. Enjoyed our chat last night we will have to do it over food or some Fall festival soon.

Congratulations to all the front page picks. Some nice work this month and looking forward to reading more from all of you.
rennielorca, the way you're able to post comments but are having trouble with other parts of the site is strange! Because the comments is what has changed the most... viewing the latest submissions hasn't changed at all... and I think neither has adding new works if that's what you're talking about. Can you describe what you're seeing? I'd feel awful if my changes to the site chased you away because you're really a valued member of the community here.

I'm having the same trouble that Rennie is, I think. I click on a poem to read it, and it's blank. It's weird.
Also, to go along with the other big freakin' messages around here, I wanted to say that have you noticed if you take a break for a day around here, it's near impossible to keep up with everything. This is the busiest community! Keep it up folks, it's amazing!
