Seems like it's been a while since we had a challenge...Anyone game? I'm getting in that Halloween mood--so how about a deathless love contest?
Any form---any length---
but written to a famous movie monster, tongue in cheek?
You can also pick a non celuloid creepy---but the same rules apply...
If you want to participate, make sure you mark your poem as an entry...
one tiny codicil...Dracula SUCKS has been done to death...but if you come up with something more toothsome...
(We have an amazing number of GREAT PIECES...hard to pick...did i mention the top three get candy corn?)
Candy Corn is concentrated evil, plus a little sugar.
That's why it's mostly around at halloween!
That said, I should try to get back into the saddle, I have an idea for the monster theme...
Gala~~ I had to do a double entry TAERT RO KCIRT for the Halloween monster poems. One round of verse is to the old first worst boyfriend, the original Count Dracula/Count Vlad the Impaler, and the haiku to the boyfriend I finally left the cheater for ....... ahhhh Godzilla. It was just too hard to pick between them then and now -- lol, too much fun, Gala.
Maybe you can have a contest for Thanksgiving on the real Turkeys/boyfriends we have dated, and Christmas, on the gift-giving Santas/boyfriends in our lives. Vice versa for the guys. Then the New Year and dating Father Time, Valentine Cupid and the Easter Bunny/March Big Wind, and the April Fool, the worst Mayday of a date, the duck on a June Bug, and who lit those 4th of July fireworks with us, plus the august and stately ... I digress ..... Rennie

The idea about "writing to a famous movie monster" is very clever and I will enjoy reading those that contribute to the contest....already have! I haven't watched many scarey movies, but I have crushes on SUPERHEROs or HEROs...my favorite is John McClane (Bruce Willis)!

Gala ~ If you thought Tim Curry was hot in lingerie...you should see him in a white ruffled shirt and black pantaloons and tall black boots...I was lucky enough to see him perform in person in London in 1982. He starred in 'The Pirates of Penzance' at Drury Lane Theater.
...A far cry from him playing 'Mr. French' on the new version of 'Family Affair', phew, yuk and so NOT sexy!
Oh and if you could promise me the white chocolate covered bears, I might think of a Halloween sub...hmmm...

im looking for something that was on the blender late last year. i dont remember which month and i cant think of the title, but it was a conversation between two men, one of the guys talked about seducing women and the other was helplessly in love. the one guy was a real cynic (correct spelling?) anyway if someone could plese let me know where it is id appreciate it.
