Butterfly ~ Palace of Love provided excellent grounds for my mind to wander and expand. You words in this piece and the theme of it combined very well to bring out its overall emotion. Not only that, but it took my philosopher mind and gave it the fuel to think and analyze into further related areas. Thank you for writing this piece. I like!
I am always honored when you make a comment about my poems...thanks for recognizing my best...There's a couple of reasons that I appreciate and love your submission of BREATH OF FRESH AIR. I have irish (celtic) roots that I "naturally" appreciate your submissions of love relating to nature, heavens and stars...Also "the breath" of one is not only a blessing it's undescribable with words for me...I hope that one day I can write about how intimate "the breath" of one is...
Meredith~ Games was powerful. I really enjoy poems that are written in simple language to convey a strong message. It's a neat contrast, and I think it makes the work more tangible, and real. Great work. ~Vi

Comedian and social critic Dennis Miller was on The Craig Kilborn Show (CBS) Friday night, speaking about politics and popular culture...

He called West Virginia Senator Robert C. Byrd "demented" and said that Byrd has "his head so far up his ass that they have to cut in switchback trails to get to it." Miller noted that Byrd was a member of the Ku Klux Klan at age 28 and "has more K's in his resume than Roger Clemens." It was brilliant.

Entertainer Wayne Newton later took a crack at Byrd during a call-in bit, something to do with "learning to put whipped cream on nipples" from him. I was still laughing so hard at Miller's rant that I didn't quite catch the whole reference.

All of this reminds me of "gonzo journalist" Hunter S. Thompson's description of Byrd (in Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail '72) as one of "the old whores of the Democratic party." And that was back in 1984...

Byrd's defining life moment came just a few years ago, when he attempted to invoke the concept that "niggas ain't always black" on a nationally televised interview (referring to the existence of "white niggers"). Unfortunately, this sad old fella never larn't that he lost his right to ever EVER utter the "N" word years ago. We should have all hooted and holler'd him outta office the very next day...

Byrd recently chastised President Bush for appearing in military fatigues and flight suit when arriving on an aircraft carrier to address U. S. troops (a requirement to fly with military). This, of course, is the same Senator Byrd who recently appeared WEARING A CONFEDERATE GENERAL'S UNIFORM in a very long, bad Hollywood movie about the Civil War. On The Craig Kilborn Show, Dennis Miller reminded viewers of the Senator's hypocrisy, recalling the time Robert Byrd "was shot out of a cannon across the deck of the Merrimac during the Civil War."

"Amen" indeed.
